A vacancy exists for an Administrative Assistant position to work within PaTTAN at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. The Administrative Assistant, PaTTAN, performs general secretarial duties.
Qualifications:
  • No post-secondary degree required
  • Holds any appropriate certificates required as part of the job functions.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of progressive experience in administrative support.
  • Experience should be in field required for job functions
  • Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
    1. Skills in area to be able to work as proven through work experience.
    2. Professional approach to their work that includes very strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Ability to use computer technology efficiently - proficiency in using all MS Office products.
  • Must be a proficient typist; must know how to format business correspondence/reports.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to work effectively with people.
  • Ability to work under stress and with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to schedule time to meet deadlines, to communicate effectively, and to read and analyze written and verbal information.
  • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and type reports, letters, mailings, memoranda, requisitions, and forms using applicable software systems.
  • Use of technology to perform tasks (e.g., to Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, survey applications, and PaTTAN developed software)
  • Maintain various records using database technology (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Planning and supporting PaTTAN trainings and conferences, both on and off site. This may include overnight travel.
    1. Assist with workshop enrollment and registration as assigned. Prepare hand-outs and visual aids as assigned.
    2. Schedule room(s) and arrange for room set-up per instructions.
  • Make travel arrangements as appropriate.
  • Screen and monitor emails and telephone calls ensuring that messages are forwarded and responded to in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain an appointment calendar and a daily schedule.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient comprehensive electronic or paper filing system.
  • Respond to routine requests for information.
  • Keep and develop office forms and procedures.
  • Serve as a back-up to other staff members and help them with tasks when deadlines require.
    1. Front Desk Reception support and substitution as needed.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with PaTTAN colleagues, MCIU staff, LEA staff, board members, Pennsylvania Department of Education personnel, Bureau of Special Education personnel, other government officials, service agencies personnel and families.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Location:
PaTTAN East is located at 2500 Monroe Boulevard, Suite 110, Norristown, PA 19403
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260 - 262 days/year)
Pay Rate:
$24.86/hour - $29.25/hour (PS3)
