Job description

Patient Service Navigator Responsibilities:

The Patient Service Navigator works in conjunction with the providers and clinic staff to take care of the clinic and patients' referral and administrative needs.

  • Manage/schedules referral appointments for patients at the time of visit for specialists, therapy and diagnostic testing.
  • Provides f/u to patients for referral appointments.
  • Answer multiple phone lines.
  • Process phone calls, mail, emails and fax requests from patients, providers, other departments/clinics, external organizations.
  • Conduct appropriate follow-up with patients via phone or mail.
  • Communicate applicable messages to clinic staff.
  • Register and schedule patients for appointments maximizing the provider's schedule.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain appropriate insurance referrals and authorizations.
  • Check in/outpatients.
  • Entering and updating patient data into system programs accurately.
  • Collecting, processing, and recording payments.
  • Providing accurate and complete information to the billing office.

Patient Service Navigator Requirements:

  • High School or Equivalent (GED)
  • 1 year
  • Possess a pleasant and professional attitude and appearance.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service behavior.
  • Display excellent face-to-face, telephone, and written communication skills.
  • Have comprehensive keyboard skills and computer knowledge.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multi-tasking, time management, organization, attention to detail, quality, independent problem solving, and critical thinking.
  • Flexible with work schedule, reliable, and a team player.

Salary Range: $17.00 to $26.00/hr (based on experience)
