Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)

As a nurse, hereโ€™s a big-picture view of what youโ€™ll do:

  • Care for patients with a variety of illnesses, injuries and diseases in facilities such as medical offices, assisted living facilities, hospitals and schools
  • Work with a team of physicians, Nurses, CNAs and aides to deliver excellent patient care
  • Take patient vitals, do assessments, document progress and report changes to RN supervisor
  • Assist in carrying out physicianโ€™s orders, patient care and prescribed treatmentsย 
  • Administer medication, operate medical equipment and maintain a safe environment

A few must-haves for LPNs and RNs:

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Registered Nurse (RN) with active, unrestricted license in the State of Michigan โ€“ BSN not requiredย 
  • CPR certification
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency, critical thinking skills, good communicator and compassionate
