Locum Tenens (Locum to Perm Potential) Plastic Surgeon Needed: Deliver Essential Care near Kalamazoo, Michigan (j-232322) Are you a board-certified plastic surgeon seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity with potential for a permanent position in a thriving community near Kalamazoo, Michigan? Our healthcare team is actively searching for a skilled and experienced physician to join our on-call group and provide vital plastic surgery support to adult patients at a Level II trauma center. This unique role offers the chance to make a real difference in acute care situations, focusing on facial trauma and other surgical needs, with the potential to transition into a permanent role if desired.

Why You'll Thrive in This Opportunity: Impactful Role in Trauma Care: Utilize your plastic surgery expertise to provide timely and critical care for adult patients experiencing facial trauma and other surgical conditions within a high-acuity Level II trauma center. Commitment to Patient Care: Become part of a dedicated on-call group, ensuring continuity of care for patients requiring plastic surgery intervention. Work-Life Balance with Predictable Schedule: Maintain a flexible schedule with one dedicated week of on-call coverage per month.

Collaboration with a Supportive Team: Work alongside a team of skilled professionals, including a full ancillary staff, to deliver optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to on-call situations, providing timely consultations and interventions for adult patients with facial trauma and other surgical needs. Perform a variety of plastic surgery procedures, including facial laceration repairs, scar revisions, skin grafts, flaps, facial reconstruction for facial fractures, and all trauma-related oral surgery cases. Collaborate effectively with the on-call team, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care during on-call periods.

Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the facility's electronic medical records system. Qualifications for Success: Current board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is mandatory. Valid and active medical license in the state of Michigan (or willingness to obtain one) is required.

Experience performing a variety of plastic surgery procedures, including facial laceration repairs, scar revisions, skin grafts, flaps, facial reconstruction for facial fractures, and all trauma-related oral surgery cases is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, colleagues, and staff. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial.
