Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
  • Identify teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis and collaborate with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences, ensuring accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on patient education and quality outcomes.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and collaborate with senior nursing staff for complex decision-making.
  • Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, offering guidance in problem-solving, organization, and priority setting.
  • Assure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Engage in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment and maintain communication with management regarding service needs.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as required and actively pursue professional development opportunities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience.
  • Previous inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
