Janitor Part Time (On-Call)

Location: Lakewood, Washington (Joint Base Lewis-McChord)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Part-Time, Day Shift โ€“ Swing Shift

Compensation: $23.51/hr

Position Requirements โ€“ Janitor (Part-Time / On-Call)

This is a part-time, on-call Janitor position supporting sites across Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Applicants must have availability for both day and swing shifts on an on-call basis.

Availability Requirements:

  • Must be available to work both day and swing shifts
  • Must be able to work the full scheduled shift
  • Must be available Mondayโ€“Friday

Shift Schedules:

  • Day Shift: 6:30 a.m. โ€“ 3:00 p.m.
  • Swing Shift: 4:00 p.m. โ€“ 12:30 a.m. - $0.77/hr Swing Shift differential pay

Tessera is seeking a motivated and reliable Part Time Janitor with a positive attitude. This individual will be responsible for a variety of janitorial duties on an assigned route.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Restroom Cleaning โ€“ sanitize and clean all toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, partitions, walls & doors. Restock supplies.
  • Office Cleaning โ€“ sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
  • Halls and High Traffic area Cleaning โ€“ sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
  • Entrances and Exits Cleaning โ€“ sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean entry doors according to schedule.
  • Trash โ€“ Empty trash in office areas, lunchrooms, coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker according to schedule.
  • Supply Restocking โ€“ restock supplies according to schedule.
  • Dusting โ€“ dusting in restrooms, shower/locker areas, according to schedule.
  • Stairwell Cleaning โ€“ sweep, mop, vacuum, and wipe handrails according to schedule.
  • Shower Cleaning โ€“ clean all shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross contamination procedures
  • Janitorial Supply Closet/Locker โ€“ keep clean and organized.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate with others in a courteous and helpful way.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Paid on-the-job training provided.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Valid State Driver's license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance company.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
