Description
Job Title: Cook
Reports To: Executive Chef
Summary: A Prep Cook performs various food preparation, cooking and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for our guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes all tasks, in order, on the prep list
- Set up and sanitize workstations
- Check labels daily to ensure freshness
- Label and stock ingredients in their designated areas
- Wash, chop and sort ingredients
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Parboil food, reducing sauces and make soup stock
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
- Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware
- Clean work area, sinks, counters, display and prep tables and other equipment
- Follow proper safety procedures when using kitchen equipment
- Empty wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area
- Keeps record of cooler and freezer temps
- Assists in all areas of the kitchen as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
