Job description

Position Summary


The Prepackaged Food Production & Catering Operations Assistant supports daily prepackaged food production and catering operations from preparation through delivery. This position is responsible for enduring accurate order fulfillment, maintaining food quality and safety standards, supports menu and recipe development and assisting with catering execution.

The ideal candidate has experience in catering and high-volume food production, strong organizations skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. Flexibility to work weekends for scheduled events or rotating food production coverage is required.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Prepackaged Food Production Operations

  • Fulfill daily production orders accurately and on schedule while following standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Ensure all products are properly counted, labeled, packaged and staged for distribution.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for ingredients, packaging materials and productions supplies
  • Assist with development and testing of new menu items and recipes, targeting approximately four new items per month.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, company procedures and ServSafe standards.
  • Support quality control initiatives to ensure consistency and product excellence.

Daily Employee Lunch Program

  • Assist with preparation and execution of daily employee lunch meal.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented according to company quality standards
  • Support timely service and replenishment as needed

Catering Event Operations

  • Prepare and fulfill catering orders while ensuring recipe adherence, quality standards and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with catering event logistics including food preparation planning, execution, delivery, set up and teardown.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation and ServSafe requirements throughout all catering operations
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during catering deliveries an events

General Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper techniques for washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and food preparation.
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment including ovens, slicers, mixers, and other commercial food production equipment.
  • Load and unload ovens and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support employee training and coaching initiatives as needed.
  • Assist other food production departments when operational support is required.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and menu innovation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Chauffeur’s License required within 30 days of employment.
  • Previous experience in a culinary production, catering, or high-volume food service environment required.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and varying schedules based on operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Catering operations experience.
  • Menu planning and recipe development experience.
  • ServSafe Certification.
  • ServSafe Allergen Certification.
  • Experience with inventory management and food production systems.
  • Knowledge of food portioning, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
