Job description

DavidsonTeal is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Payroll / HR Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting payroll operations across multiple areas of the company while ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and comfortable working with confidential information in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
  • Process and maintain employee payroll information including pay updates, deductions, direct deposits, and other payroll-related changes
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and ensure all approvals and deadlines are met each pay period
  • Assist with payroll adjustments such as bonuses, commissions, and other compensation changes
  • Work with benefit deductions, tax withholdings, garnishments, and other third-party payroll items
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and assist with account reconciliations
  • Support payroll reporting needs for leadership, benefits, taxes, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and assist with audits or verification requests as needed
  • Partner with internal departments and outside vendors to ensure payroll processes run smoothly
  • Stay informed on payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance updates

What We're Looking For
  • Part time 25 to 30 hours per week
  • Payroll certification such as FPC or CPP is a plus
  • Previous payroll, accounting, or bookkeeping experience
  • HR experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
