Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Generalist supports all core human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, policy administration, HR compliance, and employee development. This role partners with leadership and employees to deliver effective HR solutions, ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, and foster a positive workplace culture. Success requires professionalism, confidentiality, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a positive employee experience and compliance with company procedures.
Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and annual open enrollment.
Coordinate and administer the bi-weekly payroll process by reviewing and validating payroll reports; ensuring the accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, employee benefits, payroll deductions, garnishments, paid time off, and other payroll changes; and partnering with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
Partner with managers to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary matters.
Interpret and consistently apply company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other protected leave programs.
Support payroll by processing personnel changes, maintaining employment records, and ensuring accurate HR data.
Assist with compensation administration, including salary adjustments, promotions, job changes, and market analyses.
Coordinate employee training, compliance programs, and professional development initiatives.
Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Prepare HR reports, workforce metrics, and documentation to support leadership decision-making.
Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company culture activities.
Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions in partnership with management.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee service delivery through continuous improvement initiatives.
Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers by providing timely, professional, and customer-focused HR support.
Perform other human resources and administrative duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (FOR PART TIME)
2 year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist role.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, COBRA, OSHA, and I-9 compliance.
Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and HR compliance.
Proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Microsoft Office Suite, and HR reporting tools.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships at all organizational levels.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience supporting a remote or multi-state workforce is preferred.
Experience in a technology, SaaS, or high-growth organization is preferred.
