With a reputation for excellence, WSP's programs are designed by subject matter experts and delivered by seasoned industry practitioners.
Position Overview
As a Hedge Fund Consultant/Trainer, you will have the opportunity to help shape our training program curricula, as well as teach, mentor, and inspire future investors and finance professionals. In this role, you will:
  • Serve as a lead facilitator for public-markets investing training sessions, with a focus on hedge fund analysts and associates, helping participants develop the analytical, judgment, and investing skills required to succeed on the buy-side.
  • Share real-world insights from your investing experience, including idea generation, variant perception, catalyst-driven investing, portfolio construction, and risk management.
  • Develop your personal brand as a thought leader in hedge fund investing while expanding your network across top financial institutions.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in hedge fund investing (buy-side) and a passion for teaching complex investment concepts in a clear, engaging, and practical way.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with WSP on shaping programs, including:
    • Work with internal content teams to design hedge fund focused training programs
    • Enhance and update existing hedge fund training materials
    • Develop new content across strategies (e.g., long/short equity, macro, credit, quantitative)
  • Deliver in-person and virtual training seminars for clients, including:
    • Undergraduate and MBA students at leading business schools
    • Professionals at investment banks, hedge funds, asset managers, and other institutions
  • Teach core hedge fund and public equities investing concepts, including:
    • Fundamental long/short equity investing
    • Investment idea generation and alpha creation
    • Public equities modeling, earnings analysis, and valuation in support of investment recommendations
    • Sector/industry coverage and research frameworks
    • Portfolio construction and risk management
  • Conduct one-on-one tutoring or small-group sessions to provide personalized instruction
  • Successfully complete WSP's Train-the-Trainer Program, designed to refine instructional and presentation skills
What We Are Looking For
Experience:
  • 5+ years of direct experience generating and underwriting investment ideas within an active public-markets strategy at a top tier hedge fund.
  • Background in:
    • Long/short equity (preferred)
    • Macro, credit, or quantitative strategies (also considered)
  • Prior experience in investment banking or equity research strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Building and owning financial models
    • Generating investment ideas (long and short)
    • Conducting fundamental analysis and sector coverage
    • Making investment recommendations and contributing to portfolio decisions
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or CFA is a plus but not required
Skills & Passion:
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Deep understanding of public markets and hedge fund strategies
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex investment concepts, including how to form differentiated views, update investment theses with new information, and make decisions under uncertainty
  • Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing others
Availability:
  • Flexibility to conduct training sessions Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
  • Ability to commit to at least 10 training days per year
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation:
  • Highly competitive daily rate
Benefits:
  • All travel and accommodation expenses covered by WSP
  • Paid professional development through WSP's Train-the-Trainer Program
  • Flexible scheduling to fit your availability
Opportunities to:
