Parts/Shop Administrator

PK Contracting – Kalamazoo Division

Pay: Hourly from $22.00–$28.00 DOE

Position Summary

The Parts/Shop Administrator is responsible for coordinating parts procurement, inventory management, fleet maintenance administration, and regulatory compliance activities to support the efficient operation of the company’s fleet and maintenance shop. This position works closely with mechanics, vendors, and management to ensure necessary parts and supplies are available, preventative maintenance schedules are maintained, and fleet licensing and permit requirements are kept current. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and working knowledge of heavy truck and/or heavy equipment parts. This role plays a critical part in minimizing equipment downtime and supporting the ongoing operational needs of a fast-paced construction environment with a large and diverse fleet.

Qualifications and Requirements 
  • Heavy truck and/or heavy equipment parts knowledge required.
  • Previous experience ordering repair and replacement parts required.
  • Experience maintaining shop inventory and stock levels.
  • Ability to manage preventative maintenance schedules for a fleet of 50+ vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to work closely with mechanics, vendors, and management to ensure timely and effective preventative maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Manage the timely and accurate submission of unscheduled repair documentation, including work orders, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Strong computer proficiency skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping, inventory management, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Schedule 

Construction Season: Monday through Friday / 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

Off-Season: Monday through Friday / 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on project schedules.
