Job description

General Description:

The D2D/MDU residential Sales Manager is responsible and accountable for defining and executing D2D and MDU sales strategies. The Manager will lead day to day activities for Field Sales, 3rd Party Sales, MDU/HOA Sales, and other future sales channels as developed. In addition, the Sales Manager will be responsible to define, lead and partner with Marketing for blitzes and local sales events as well provide feedback and insights on competitive pressures and market forces impacting sales performance.

The D2D/MDU Sales Manager will be an achievement oriented experienced sales leader who will effectively engage and work collaboratively with other Surf department leadership on a regular basis to ensure improvement opportunities are identified and growth targets are achieved.

Reports to: Director of Residential Sales

Job Status: Exempt

Job Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop an internal team of D2D sales reps. 3 reps within 3 months and 5 total after 6 months.

  • Provide leadership and enhanced problem-solving skills, as well as, effectively coach, train and motivate a diverse sales organization toward reaching the growth objectives.

  • Supervision of D2D and MDU sales channel leaders and sales staff providing day to day direction regarding recruiting, training, coaching, motivation, activity, and performance strategies.

  • Develop partnerships with MDU Property Managers and HOA Board members to encourage lead generation and sales from new tenants and homeowners.

  • Lead the development and implementation of a positive winning sales culture driven by performance-based incentive and recognition programs and day to day leadership.

  • Ensure accurate and timely sales reporting (by channel) is developed and available to understand sales performance, drive accountability and overall improvement.

  • Responsible for understanding sales channel performance and preparing sales forecasts and departmental budgets.

  • Drive sales strategy and execution to meet performance goals as established by the business (15% within 90 days; 30% within 365 days) and tracked through the Subscriber Penetration Cohort report. Actions include campaign development and collaboration of execution efforts across the business including members of the sales, marketing, D2D and local event teams.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Manage external D2D and MDU and sales channel partners.

  • Conduct interviews for open positions, enlist additional staff members to assist with interviews and solicit feedback in the hiring process.

  • Guide partners through goal setting and performance review processes including the need for additional training courses, reprioritization of projects and re-setting of goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in BA Business Administration or other relevant studies.

  • Experience working with Inside, Field and Partnership sales channels.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required in sales leadership and running multiple sales channels.

  • Strong analytical skills set and familiarity with key sales performance indicators/metrics.

  • Comfort in presenting and defending proposals to executive management is essential.

  • Familiarity with the use of business analytics and ability to synthesize trends from disparate data points is desirable.

  • Minimum of 5 years proven management and leadership experience, with demonstrated experience building highly effective sales teams and processes.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with demonstrated abilities of collaboration and teamwork.

  • Experience with partnership identification and implementation.

  • Must have highly developed organizational, planning and management writing skills, oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with others.
