We design and deliver propulsion and defense systems that solve the most urgent and critical national security demands.
We are looking to hire a Senior HR Business Partner to provide critical support to our teams. This role will partner with staff to develop and execute people strategies and policies focused on organizational effectiveness, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, and compliance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, and practices with team leaders throughout Ursa that foster our values of conviction, cohesion, and humility, promote team success, and align with business strategies.
  • Execute a cadence of regular check-ins with team leaders to improve team performance and increase team talent density.
  • Champion Inclusion efforts and provide support for initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Partner with talent acquisition to devise workforce planning strategies and assist with internal mobility and succession planning.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal employment requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of People Operations plans and solutions that deliver results while maintaining an engaged workforce.
  • Provide compensation support to leaders for salary actions including salary reviews, promotions, and compensation analysis.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Org Development teams to build scalable recruiting and training processes to ensure a sustainable pipeline of external and internal talent mobility.
  • Coach and guide team leaders on complex people issues, identifying, investigating, and resolving employee issues, concerns, etc.
  • Develop tools that allow for a data driven approach to People Ops aimed at identifying trends in the business and proactively provide solutions to areas of opportunity.
  • Manage Total Rewards processes, including managing Payroll & Benefits Admin and working with external vendors and People Ops Director to select company benefits each year.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to direct reports to ensure all team members have the resources necessary to perform their responsibilities accurately and effectively, while ensuring growth and development opportunities. This includes weekly 1:1s and check-ins.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience, across a variety of HR disciplines (i.e. Compensation, organizational design, payroll and benefits, Operations, Compliance, etc.)
  • Experience utilizing HR analytics to influence business leaders and drive decision making
  • Experience implementing HR processes, business transformation strategies and organizational design initiatives in high growth teams.
  • Experience solving complex employee issues with professionalism, confidentiality, and respect.
  • Understanding of financial principals, inclusive of people budgets, with the ability to clarify manager questions on such issues.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or graduate degree in related field
  • Experience with HRIS/HCM implementation and associated change management skills
  • Experience with execution of performance management cycles
  • Experience in coaching and advising employees at multiple employment levels and settings.
  • Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment.
  • In-depth working knowledge, experience and understanding of Human Resources including Employee Relations, HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, and Training and Organizational Development.
  • Evaluate organizational design and make recommendations to optimize performance, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $110,000 - $130,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What we can't quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.
