Job Description
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily delivery operations, including safety, driver performance, dispatch execution, staffing, and operational metrics. This individual will work closely with company leadership and Amazon station personnel to ensure routes are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all company and Amazon standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily delivery operations for multiple delivery routes
  • Supervise dispatch activities and ensure successful route execution
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Delivery Associates and support staff
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and corrective actions when necessary
  • Foster a positive workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, and employee engagement
  • Monitor key performance indicators including safety metrics, on-time delivery performance, customer feedback, attendance, and route completion
  • Analyze operational data and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Partner with Amazon station leadership to address operational challenges and maintain compliance
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and customer escalations while ensuring proper documentation and follow-up
  • Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and labor management
  • Conduct daily operational meetings, safety briefings, and shift handoffs
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and Amazon delivery standards
  • Serve as a leader during peak operations, severe weather events, and other high-pressure situations

Qualifications
Required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience in logistics, transportation, operations, warehouse management, or related fields
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and operational reporting tools
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible schedules as business needs require
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
  • Previous Amazon DSP, transportation, or last-mile delivery experience
  • Experience with performance management and employee development
  • Knowledge of Amazon delivery performance metrics and station operations
  • Experience managing 50+ employees in a fast-paced environment
