Operations Manager
Building Materials Distribution | Beaver, Pennsylvania
$65,000-75,000 USD Base + Bonus + 401(k) + Benefits | Branch Manager Progression
Our client is a well-established and respected distributor of roofing and exterior building materials serving contractors across the Eastern United States. They are recognized for their strong customer relationships, operational excellence, and commitment to developing future leaders from within.
As part of an exciting succession plan, they are looking for an Operations Manager to join a high-performing branch in Beaver, Pennsylvania. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced Branch Manager before transitioning into the leadership role yourself.
Position Overview
This role is designed for an ambitious operations or sales leader looking to take the next step in their career. You'll spend approximately six months working closely with an experienced Branch Manager, learning every aspect of the business before assuming full responsibility for the branch.
You'll play a key role in leading the team, supporting daily operations, strengthening customer relationships, and driving continued business growth. This opportunity offers a clear path into Branch Management for the right individual.
What You'll Do
  • Work alongside the current Branch Manager to learn all aspects of branch operations and leadership.
  • Lead and develop a team consisting of Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Warehouse staff, and Delivery Drivers.
  • Manage daily branch operations while maintaining a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment.
  • Support inventory management, purchasing, and warehouse organization to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Grow existing business while identifying new opportunities to increase market share.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, customers, suppliers, and key industry partners.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product offerings to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Assist with financial performance, operational planning, and branch profitability.
  • Foster a positive, accountable culture built on teamwork, communication, and exceptional customer service.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience within the building materials distribution industry (roofing, siding, windows, insulation, exterior products, lumber, or related products).
  • Previous leadership experience managing teams that include sales, warehouse, and delivery personnel.
  • Strong understanding of branch operations, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Experience selling directly to contractors and construction professionals.
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationships and contribute to business growth.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable leading by example in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Strong business acumen with the potential to take on full P&L responsibility.
  • Stable employment history with demonstrated career progression.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who combines strong operational leadership with a sales-focused mindset. The successful candidate is a motivated leader who builds trust with employees, earns credibility with customers, and brings positive energy to the workplace.
Whether you're currently an Operations Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, or an experienced Branch Manager looking for your next opportunity, this role offers an outstanding pathway into leading a successful, well-established branch.
What Our Client Offers
  • $65,000-75,000 USD Base (based on experience).
  • Performance-based bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Structured training and mentorship with an experienced Branch Manager.
  • Clear opportunity to advance into a Branch Manager position within approximately six months, including increased compensation and a company vehicle.
