This is more than a traditional HR role. As a trusted advisor to business leaders and a coach to HR professionals, you'll help shape workforce strategy, strengthen organizational effectiveness, develop leaders, and foster a positive culture in a dynamic, seasonal production environment.

If you're a strategic HR leader who enjoys partnering closely with operations, leading teams, solving complex challenges, and making a measurable impact on people and business results, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As the senior HR leader supporting Bailey Nurseries' West Coast operations, you'll serve as a key member of the leadership team and a trusted partner to managers, employees, and HR team members across multiple locations.

Lead Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with leaders to align people strategies with business objectives and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement.
  • Help drive consistency in HR practices while supporting the unique needs of individual locations.
  • Collaborate with the CHRO and leadership teams to execute strategic HR initiatives.

Develop and Lead a High-Performing HR Team

  • Coach, mentor, and support a team of HR professionals across Oregon and Washington.
  • Foster accountability, professional growth, and continuous development within the HR team.
  • Ensure consistent, timely, and high-quality HR support throughout the region.
  • Lead the execution of key HR initiatives and programs.

Shape the Workforce of the Future

  • Partner with operations leaders on workforce planning and staffing strategies.
  • Guide recruitment and onboarding efforts to support business growth and seasonal workforce demands.
  • Support organizational changes, communications, and change management initiatives.
  • Help build talent pipelines and strengthen retention strategies.

Strengthen Leadership and Employee Relations

  • Coach managers on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Lead sensitive and complex employee relations matters, investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Build manager confidence and capability through practical guidance and training.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, respect, engagement, and inclusion.

Drive Compliance and Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Lead efforts to standardize and improve HR processes, systems, and documentation.
  • Partner with Safety, Payroll, and Operations teams to support organizational effectiveness and employee wellbeing.
  • Use HR data and trends to identify opportunities and make informed recommendations.

Champion Talent Development and Culture

  • Support leadership development and manager training initiatives.
  • Identify talent needs and opportunities for employee growth.
  • Partner on compensation and benefits initiatives.
  • Help reinforce Bailey's values-driven culture and commitment to employee success.

What You Bring

We're looking for a strategic, relationship-focused HR professional who is equally comfortable in the boardroom, on the production floor, and coaching managers through real-world people challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive HR Business Partner or HR leadership experience.
  • Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring HR team members.
  • Strong employee relations expertise, including investigations, performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders, build trust, and drive organizational change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate HR data into business recommendations.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience in agriculture, horticulture, manufacturing, production, distribution, or other operational environments.
  • Multi-site HR leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting seasonal or high-volume workforces.
