We are a family-owned home furnishing business operating multiple Ashley Furniture locations in Central Illinois and the greater Indianapolis area. We are excited to announce our expansion into Bloomington, Indiana in October 2026, and are seeking to fill all retail store positions as soon as possible. Position Overview

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing daily retail store operations, ensuring efficient processes, excellent customer experiences, and strong financial performance. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role works closely with the Assistant Store Manager to oversee inventory management, logistics, merchandising execution, and operational support functions while upholding compliance and safety standards.


Duties and Responsibilities

Operations & Inventory Management:

  • Oversee daily store operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards
  • Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, margin, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and development of staff
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
  • Support recruiting and interviewing efforts
  • Identify operational improvements and implement best practices to increase productivity and profitability
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory
  • Prepare monthly inventory velocity reports
  • Ensure merchandise on the sales floor is tagged properly
  • Coordinate with distribution centers, vendors, and logistics partners for timely product delivery
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, financial controls, and operational procedures
  • Oversee maintenance of the physical plant and serve as primary point of contact for vendors such as electricians, plumbers, and cleaning services
  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers

Sales Support & Customer Administration:

  • Assist with processing sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all required documentation is complete and proper approvals are obtained before finalizing transactions
  • Process customer credit applications, assist with financing arrangements, and maintain accurate customer account information in retail management systems
  • Follow established cash handling procedures, process payments accurately, and reconcile transactions according to company policies under Office Manager supervision
