Job description

About Us:
At Parafin, we're on a mission to grow small businesses.
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, but traditional banks often don't have their backs. We build tech that makes it simple for small businesses to access the financial tools they need through the platforms they already sell on.
We partner with companies like DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody to offer fast and flexible funding, spend management, and savings tools to their small business users via a simple integration. Parafin takes on all the complexity of capital markets, underwriting, servicing, compliance, and customer service for our partners.
We're a tight-knit team of innovators hailing from Stripe, Square, Plaid, Coinbase, Robinhood, CERN, and more - all united by a passion for building tools that help small businesses succeed. Parafin is backed by prominent venture capitalists including GIC, Notable Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Ribbit Capital, and Thrive Capital. Parafin is a Series C company, and we have raised more than $194M in equity and $340M in debt facilities.
Join us in creating a future where every small business has the financial tools they need.
About the Position
We are expanding our Partner Engineering team and seeking a Partner Engineer who will serve as a technical counterpart on the post-sales side -from owning integration execution, post-launch growth and support, to scaling the post-sales function operationally. This is a customer-facing role - you'll blend hands-on implementation, debugging, and scale engineering to act as the technical glue between our most strategic partners and internal teams. This role reports to the Partner Engineering Manager.
You will leverage your technical expertise to help solve the most difficult partner and product problems and influence Parafin's product direction. You will play a pivotal role in building out a scalable and best-in-class technical GTM post-sales function.
Join us and drive Parafin's growth!
What You'll Be Doing:
Own Partner Implementations
  • Scale technical onboarding with a focus on reducing the time to integrate with Parafin products. This can include owning and building internal or partner-facing tools to streamline onboarding.
  • Drive the technical implementation of new capital launches from initial planning through partner coordination, issue resolution, comprehensive testing, and final go-live
  • Act as the central point of contact for identifying and debugging critical technical issues, coordinating prompt resolutions between internal teams and platform partners. Where necessary, provide tailored solutions to meet partners' integration needs.
  • Document integration details and processes (internally and for partners), ensuring knowledge transfer and ease of support as our partner portfolio scales.
  • Be the voice for our partners internally - Capture integration learnings and feedback to influence product roadmap, APIs, and platform improvements.

Scale Partner Support / Operations
  • Provide partner focussed support, monitoring and stability post-launch.
  • Provide ongoing technical account management post-launch - optimizing integrations, expanding product usage, and monitoring and swiftly resolving integration-related challenges.
  • Drive tooling & automation to scale repeatable integration patterns.
  • Work with Product & Platform teams to evolve partner facing assets based on real-world partner needs.
  • Instrument telemetry, logs, dashboards to monitor partner integrations at scale.
  • Uphold technical documentation standards across company and be the flag bearer for managing our public facing docs

What We're Searching For:
  • Must have 3+ years of experience in client-facing technical roles, preferably in post-sales engineering, software integration, technical partner support, customer success engineer or technical GTM engineer.
  • Strong engineering background with fluency in at least 2 programming languages a plus (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
  • Proficiency with integration technologies, such as REST APIs, webhooks, SDKs, data pipelines, and embeddable UI components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a partner-focused approach. You have a demonstrated background of relentlessly raising the bar for great partner experience.
  • Great intuition for navigating standard/generalizable vs. custom partner solutions and guiding partners toward the optimal approach that considers both partner needs and engineering resourcing.
  • Comfortable exploring and navigating Parafin's codebase, particularly with proficiency in React, Scala, and Python.
  • Proven experience in creating working demos and production applications, showcasing your ability to apply technical skills to practical use cases.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to evolving requirements and priorities.
  • Demonstrated passion for helping small businesses grow and succeed, showing genuine dedication to the success of our partners.
  • Proficiency in crafting clear technical documentation for effective knowledge sharing, troubleshooting, and best practice distribution to internal teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of our industry's best practices for integration and technical scoping.
  • Familiarity with SQL preferred
  • Experience working in Fintech is a plus.

What We Offer
  • Salary Range: $175k - $220k
  • Equity grant
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Commuter benefits
  • Free lunches
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k)
  • Employee assistance program
