Business Development Manager (BDM) โ€“ Loweโ€™s Account

The BDM will be responsible for owning, developing, and growing their assigned category. This person must be able to establish positive relationships and communication with key decision-makers and penetrate the account at the merchant (buyer) level. In addition, the BDM will also be the point of contact for the field execution and sales operations teams. They will work with the field team in regards to weekly priorities, promotional execution & seasonal readiness.

What youโ€™ll do in this role:
  • Own, build & develop the relationship with Loweโ€™s merchant team
  • Drive for sales results on distribution of all Scotts products
  • Develop programs, promotional plans and in-store display plans that meet both SMG and Loweโ€™s goals
  • Sell and recommend product orders to assure sufficient product to meet sales demand based on action plan
  • Accurately forecast demand requirements for each category managed
  • Supports and collaborate with Field Execution Team to both capture regional opportunities and communicate BDT action plans
  • Communicate regularly with Business Development Director /Lead, Lowe's BDT, Regions, Brand Marketing, and, Lowe's Merchants
  • Actively participate in Loweโ€™s meetings and events, as well as Scotts internal business planning meetings
  • Collaborate with key internal BDT associates (such as marketing manager and finance manager)
What youโ€™ll need to be successful:
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5+ years successful sales experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Scott's product lines
  • Thorough knowledge of Loweโ€™s culture, policies, and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of retailing activity such as developing and implementing account programs and merchandising plans
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop impactful Powerpoint presentations
  • Ability to analyze data within Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrate ability to penetrate accounts at all levels required to maximize sales potential
  • Demonstrate ability to create, sell and implement plans for each account to meet their unique market needs
  • Ability to create a strategic business plan to address the specific requirements of each key account
  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally
Compensation

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $130,100.00 - $153,100.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs. For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
