Job description

Part-Time Sign Installer

Location: Aiken, SC
Company: FASTSIGNS Aiken
Employment Type: Part-Time

About FASTSIGNS Aiken

FASTSIGNS Aiken is a locally owned, full-service sign and graphics center specializing in high-quality visual communications—from custom signage and vehicle graphics to large-format printing and installations. We’re a fast-paced, collaborative team dedicated to exceptional craftsmanship, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Position Overview

FASTSIGNS Aiken is looking for a reliable, hands-on installer to support local sign projects on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who already runs a handyman business, works a rotating schedule (such as a painter or firefighter), or simply wants to add flexible, paid hours without committing to a full-time role.

Install work includes interior and exterior signage, vinyl graphics, basic electrical sign components, and occasional site surveys. Jobs are scheduled in advance and can often be stacked around an existing work schedule. We’re looking for someone mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently on job sites.

This is a great opportunity to earn steady supplemental income, expand your skill set, and work with a locally owned business—without disrupting your primary career.

Key Responsibilities

This position is primarily installation-focused, with approximately 90% of hours spent on-site performing installations as scheduled. The remaining ~10% of time involves in-house production support, which is only required during large-volume jobs or rush projects.

Production:

  • Perform vinyl weeding, masking, mounting, and lamination.

  • Assemble signs and displays using substrates such as acrylic, aluminum, PVC, and coroplast.

  • Maintain organized, efficient workflow within the production area.

  • Perform basic finishing tasks (trimming, routing, cleaning, packing).

  • Stage materials for upcoming installation projects.

Installation:

  • Safely install signage and graphics on vehicles, walls, windows, and outdoor structures.

  • Ensure quality, alignment, and adhesion standards are met for every job.

  • Use ladders, lifts, and hand tools in accordance with safety procedures.

  • Conduct site surveys and take accurate measurements when needed.

  • Represent FASTSIGNS Aiken professionally at customer locations.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in sign production, vinyl installation, or a related trade preferred. General fine-detail handyman skills such as painting, drywall, etc are applicable.

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

  • Comfortable working in lifts or bucket trucks at heights up to 50 feet.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. (Driving record must be provided if hired).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate power tools and ladders safely.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or similar software a plus.

  • OSHA or aerial lift certification a plus (not required).

  • Ability to pass a background check.

What We Offer
  • Flexible hours and the ability to determine your own schedule.

  • $20-28 per hour depending on experience and skill-set.

  • 4-20 hours per week, depending on project load.
