JOB TITLE: Financial Aid Office Assistant                              

DEPARTMENT: Student Resources and Financial Aid    

SUPERVISOR: Associate Director of Student Resources and Financial Aid

PAY RATE: $12.00/hour

HOURS: 29/week                     

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Southeastern’s Financial Aid Assistant is responsible for being the first point of communication with current and prospective students. The Financial Aid Assistant also works with the Financial Aid Coordinators to help process all forms of financial aid.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete General Financial Aid Tasks:

  • Engage with students on issues related to financial aid
  • Update student records in financial aid software
  • Maintain working knowledge of general financial aid policies and procedures

Assist the Financial Aid Coordinators

  • Ensure students complete all requirements for disbursements as defined by institutional policy, donor agreements, and scholarship providers
  • Update applications and the website
  • Communicate key information to students and offices
  • Confirm student eligibility, awarding, and disbursing funds
  • Update institutional policies, procedures, and information

OTHER DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES

Participate in Financial Aid meetings and complete training as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for adding, updating, removing, and confirming institutional scholarships

EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT

Regular contact and interactions with SEBTS students, prospective students, and student families
