General Description:
The purpose of this class within the organization is to provide a range of functions in the preparation of meals and provide customer service. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Performs the preparing, cooking, and serving of meals and snacks.
Cleans kitchen, appliances, utensils, and dining areas.
Maintains compliance with health and safety regulations, standards, and policies.
Assists in receiving, stocking and maintaining inventory of food and kitchen equipment and supplies.
Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
One (1) year of experience in food service.
An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Requires a valid ServSafe Certification.
