Responsibilities - This part-time position is responsible for admitting patrons to The Center of Clayton, accepting program registrations and membership sales, providing general information and customer service.

The Center of Clayton is looking for reliable, dependable, friendly, enthusiastic, employees who enjoy helping people and providing amazing service. Ideal candidates will have excellent customer service skills, prior cash handling experience, and enjoy working with a variety of people in a busy environment. This position is responsible for admitting patrons to The Center of Clayton, accepting program registrations and membership sales, providing general information and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for students, retirees who want to stay active, and individuals wanting to supplement their income. These are part time (12-28 hours/week) positions for shifts on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and weekday mornings with future opportunities for weekday afternoons and evenings.

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Prior retail, parks and recreation, receptionist, or similar experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer skills
  • Excited about maintaining a warm, friendly atmosphere for guests and staff while maintaining high standards
  • Dependable, self-starter who can work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Applicants must be available for year-round employment
  • Certification or ability to obtain certification in Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with high school education or equivalent.

The Center of Clayton is a full-service community center which offers the ultimate experience in sports, fitness, swimming, recreational, educational and lifestyle enhancing programs. The Center's 136,000 square feet includes four gymnasiums, two pools, hot tub, a suspended jogging track, weightlifting, aerobic/dance areas, a 30-foot climbing wall, classrooms, lounge, Subway Restaurant, and meeting rooms. The Center of Clayton is located at 50 Gay Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105 and is part of the Clayton High School campus. Part-time staff enjoy membership privileges at The Center.
