Position Overview

The Part-Time Weekend Retail Staff is responsible for executing daily operations at a high level during peak business hours.

This role is less focused on long-term strategy and more focused on flawless execution, strict compliance, and driving strong sales performance in a fast-paced retail environment.

The ideal candidate is someone who can step in, take control of the floor, manage volume, and ensure everything runs correctly, every time.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Accuracy

  • Ensure full compliance with Massachusetts and Federal firearm laws

  • Maintain accurate bound book records

  • Oversee completion of ATF Form 4473 and all required state paperwork

  • Ensure zero errors in documentation and recordkeeping

  • Enforce compliance standards across all staff on shift

Store Operations (Execution-Focused)

  • Run day-to-day store operations during assigned shifts

  • Open and close the store according to procedures

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment

  • Manage employee workflow during high-traffic periods

  • Take control of the sales floor during busy hours

  • Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally

Sales & Floor Leadership

  • Drive strong in-store sales performance during peak hours

  • Actively engage customers and assist in product selection

  • Support and guide staff to maximize sales opportunities

  • Ensure efficient customer flow and minimize wait times

  • Deliver a high-energy, professional retail experience

Inventory Awareness

  • Maintain accurate inventory through POS system usage

  • Support restocking and product availability during shifts

  • Manage and track special orders and customer requests

  • Flag inventory gaps or issues to ownership/weekday GM

Requirements

  • Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC) required

  • Strong working knowledge of Massachusetts and Federal firearm laws

  • Retail management or leadership experience required

  • Firearms retail experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment

  • Exceptional attention to detail with zero-tolerance for compliance errors

  • Strong communication and leadership presence on the sales floor

  • Ability to remain composed, efficient, and accurate under pressure

Compensation

  • $20–$25/hour depending on experience

This Role Is NOT For

  • Candidates who struggle in fast-paced, high-volume environments

  • Those who are not comfortable being held to strict compliance and operational standards

This is a performance-driven role where execution, accuracy, and professionalism are expected at all times.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume along with thoughtful responses to the following:

  • What experience do you have managing or leading in a retail environment?

  • How do you maintain accuracy and compliance while handling multiple customers during busy periods?
