Lakeville Area Schools has several ESY Special Education Paraprofessionalย positions available.ย 
Position Descriptions/Qualifications:




  • Flexibility within the work environment.ย  Able to work with small and large groups, and one-to-one.
  • Strong communication skills with students and adults.
  • Skilled in use of various computer programs (word processing, Powerpoint, excel) and with technology used by students (iPads, smartphones).
  • Stong language, math and reading skills.
  • Willingness to accept direction from supervising teacher(s) and administrators.
  • Ability to cope with change and with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Ability to move quickly from sitting to standing position and to follow students at a fast pace, when needed.


In order to work as an ESY Special Education Paraprofessional you must meet the state requirement of being Highly Qualified prior to your start date.ย  To be considered High Qualified you must haveย ONEย of the following (please be prepared to submit documentation in support of your qualifications - transcripts from a college or a copy of the exam report):ย 

  • ย Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree, or 60+credits of post-secondary education,
  • A passing score on the ParaPro or ParaEducator Exam

  • Hours/Days: 8am to 12pm,ย Monday - Thursday


Salary

  • $19.85ย per hour
  • If a current Para in the LEAF (Lakeville Education Assistants Federation)ย bargaining unit, pay rate will be the same as the school year (B-2-1ย /ย $19.85ย - $24.05)
