Both roles are essential in veterinary settings but serve different functions within the industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time veterinary marketing professional?

To thrive as a Part Time Veterinary Marketing professional, you need a solid understanding of marketing principles, digital platforms, and preferably some experience in or knowledge of the veterinary or animal healthcare industry. Familiarity with tools like social media management platforms, email marketing software, analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), and a relevant degree or certification in marketing is highly beneficial. Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills help you effectively engage clients and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. These skills ensure targeted outreach, brand growth, and the ability to drive new business in a competitive veterinary market.

What is a part time veterinary marketing?

A Part Time Veterinary Marketing job involves promoting veterinary services, products, or clinics to potential and existing clients, but on a part-time basis. Responsibilities typically include creating marketing materials, managing social media accounts, organizing events, and communicating with pet owners to increase engagement and business growth. This role may also involve collaborating with veterinarians and staff to develop marketing strategies that highlight the clinic’s unique offerings. Part time positions offer flexibility, making them ideal for students or professionals seeking supplementary income. While a background in marketing or veterinary care is helpful, strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

How does a part time veterinary marketing professional typically collaborate with veterinary staff and external partners?

Part-time veterinary marketing professionals often work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and administrative staff to develop and promote the clinic’s services. They collaborate on campaigns, coordinate events or educational outreach, and gather insights from the team to create effective messaging. Additionally, they may liaise with external vendors, local businesses, or animal welfare organizations to expand the clinic's reach. Clear communication and flexibility are essential, since part-time schedules require efficient teamwork and regular updates to ensure everyone stays aligned.

About East Hampton Veterinary Group
East Hampton Veterinary Group has served the East End since 1929 and is the oldest veterinary practice in the region, trusted by generations of families for compassionate, personalized care. Today, the hospital is owned and led by Dr. Kenneth Palmer, who blends traditional veterinary medicine with homeopathic and holistic treatments including Chinese herbal therapies and acupuncture. The practice is equipped with digital and dental radiography, in-house laboratories, echocardiogram capabilities, and offers a wide range of surgical services from routine procedures to advanced surgeries such as TPLO and TTA, along with dentistry, acupuncture, and fear-free techniques. We also offer online booking, utilize digital records through the latest version of Impromed, and provide tools like PetDesk and an online store to enhance the client experience. Our culture is rooted in communication, kindness, and collaboration, supported by a strong team that allows veterinarians to focus on practicing high-quality medicine. The schedule follows the seasonal rhythm of the Hamptons, with a busier late spring through early fall and a steadier off season.
As the practice approaches its 100-year anniversary, we are seeking an experienced veterinarian with at least 2 years of clinical experience who enjoys both medical and surgical care, with confidence in spay, neuter, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. As we continue to build out our team, including hiring a Medical Director, this is an opportunity to be part of a hospital that is actively growing and evolving. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute ideas, help shape workflows and team culture, and play a meaningful role in the next phase of the practice. This is a strong fit for a veterinarian who values collaboration, wants a voice in how a hospital operates, and is excited to help build and grow within a well-established, community-trusted practice.
We are dedicated to establishing a culture that celebrates all forms of diversity and allows us to be an inclusive service provider in this community.
