Part-Time Veterinary Assistant

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic & Payson Pet Care
Pay: $16-$20 per hour, dependent on experience

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic and Payson Pet Care are seeking a compassionate and dependable Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our teams. This position offers the opportunity to work at two established small-animal practices serving pets and their families throughout Arizona's Rim Country.

About Our Hospitals

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic has cared for pets in Star Valley and the surrounding communities since 1985. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care while treating every pet as an important member of the family. Services include wellness and preventive care, dentistry, surgery, radiography, and in-house diagnostics.

Payson Pet Care has served the Payson community since 1998. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, our team is dedicated to maintaining high standards of veterinary medicine while providing comprehensive, respectful, and compassionate care to every patient.

Together, our hospitals provide a supportive environment where team members can strengthen their skills, experience a variety of cases, and make a meaningful difference for pets and their families.

Schedule
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: Star Valley Veterinary Clinic, 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Payson Pet Care, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Employment status: Part-time
Compensation
  • Base hourly rate of $16-$20, dependent on experience
  • Eligible for periodic bonuses, where applicable
  • Additional compensation opportunities may be available based on eligibility and hospital programs

What You'll Do
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during appointments, treatments, and procedures
  • Safely handle and restrain patients

  • Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment
  • Support patient comfort, cleanliness, and hospital organization
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
What We're Looking For
  • Previous veterinary or animal-care experience preferred
  • NAVTA Approved Veterinary Assistant certification is a plus
  • Compassionate and confident patient-handling skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Dependable, organized, and eager to learn
  • Ability to work the full schedule at both hospital locations
