Licensed Veterinary Technician – Emergency & Critical Care

Pet ER 24/7 | East Setauket, NY Pet ER 24/7 is a rapidly growing emergency, surgical, and critical care hospital on Long Island seeking a highly motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or veterinary technician actively pursuing licensure/eligible for licensing.

This is not a routine GP environment. Our hospital manages advanced emergency medicine, ICU care, transfusion medicine, surgery, advanced imaging, trauma stabilization, anesthesia monitoring, and complex hospitalized patients. We are looking for technicians who want to grow clinically, develop advanced skills, and work in a fast-paced but highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Emergency triage and ICU patient care
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
  • Venipuncture and catheter placement
  • Laboratory sample collection and diagnostics
  • Blood transfusion assistance and critical care monitoring
  • Radiology and advanced imaging support
  • Client communication and discharge instruction review
  • Accurate treatment documentation and patient monitoring

Ideal candidates: 

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred
  • Veterinary technicians actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply
  • Strong work ethic and ability to function in a fast-paced emergency environment
  • Interest in emergency, surgery, anesthesia, and critical care medicine
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure
  • Positive, mature, and team-oriented attitude
  • Candidates who value accountability, professionalism, respectful communication, and collaborative teamwork
