As a Unit Clerk, you'll play a vital role in supporting our nursing team while helping create a welcoming, organized environment for patients, families, and visitors. If you enjoy multitasking, communicating with people, and keeping operations running smoothly, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes of patient care. As the central point of communication for the nursing unit, you'll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure information flows accurately and efficiently, so patients receive exceptional care.

As a Unit Clerk, a typical day might include the following:

  • Welcoming patients, families, visitors, and physicians while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Answering telephones, call bells, and intercoms, directing requests to the appropriate team members.
  • Coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate patient information.
  • Entering physician orders and updating patient records using electronic medical record systems.
  • Preparing, organizing, and maintaining reports and unit documentation.
