Custodial Floor Technician (Part-Time)

Position Overview:

The Floor Technician is responsible for the regular maintenance and restorative cleaning of various floor types, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for our customers, their employees, and guests. This role requires proficiency in operating a range of floor care equipment and following established safety and cleaning protocols.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform routine and restorative cleaning of various floor types to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Safely operate and maintain floor care equipment, including vacuums, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and scrubbers
  • Load, transport, and unload equipment and supplies between vehicles and job sites
  • Move and reposition furniture to complete cleaning tasks
  • Handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines and regulations
  • Utilize mobile devices to document completed work and report issues
  • Travel between customer locations within the local area as required.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible and work at a fast pace.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers with courtesy and respect.

Physical Demands and Qualifications:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping while performing floor care tasks.
  • Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, and different facility conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40-50 pounds frequently.
  • Working knowledge of proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe handling, use, disposal, and management of floor care chemicals and hazardous waste, including stripping, waxing, and refinishing solutions.
