THE ROLE

As a Part-Time Teen Transition Mentor, you’ll play a key role in our youth services program, supporting youth with disabilities in achieving their personal goals. Every day will be different, making this a fun and fulfilling opportunity for those passionate about making a positive impact. This position may include but not be limited to: direct support and potential case management duties to individuals served on caseload, support and collaboration with departmental management team for service quality.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

  • Hourly Rate: $17.10/hour
  • Hours: 10-20 hours per week
    • Current Hours: After-school programming: 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    • Summer programming: 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
  • Flexibility: Scheduling tailored to your availability

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide support to youth participants with disabilities.
  • Assist during after-school hours (2:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) and adjust to summer schedules (7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.).
  • Work collaboratively with the Aptiv team to help youth develop independence, social, and life skills.
  • Mentor participants one-on-one and in small group settings.
  • Teach emotional regulation, coping, and anger management strategies.
  • Maintain consistency, strong communication, and accurate, up-to-date documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Meet the State of Wisconsin’s minimum auto insurance requirements.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, including occasional weekend availability.
  • Preferred: bilingual Spanish and English speaker.
