Location: The Spice & Tea Exchange - 950 Logan St., Noblesville, IN
Job Type: Part-time/ mainly weekends (15-20 hours/week)
Start Date: Immediately

We are The Spice & Tea Exchange of Noblesville, a locally owned and family-run specialty spice and tea shop built around community, hospitality, and a passion for flavor.
We specialize in high-quality spices, custom blends, loose-leaf teas, gourmet gifts, and other culinary treasures. Our goal is to create a welcoming place where people can explore new flavors, learn about cooking and tea, and feel part of something special.
For us, this store isn't just a business; it's a way to share our love of food and tea, build meaningful connections, and create memorable guest experiences.
We are currently seeking a passionate weekend team member with strong hospitality skills and experience working behind a beverage bar. Most shifts will be on weekends, though occasional weekday opportunities may arise.

Position Summary
Sales Associates are the heart of our shop. This role blends hospitality, retail, tea bar service, and product production.
Team members rotate between assisting guests on the sales floor, preparing beverages at our tea bar, ringing up transactions, and assisting with production tasks, such as packaging spices and teas.
We're looking for someone comfortable working behind a beverage bar while engaging with guests, explaining what they're making, and sharing knowledge about tea and flavor. At the same time, this role requires flexibility and teamwork, jumping in wherever needed to keep the store running smoothly.
What You'll Do:
Guest Experience
  • Welcome every guest and provide exceptional hospitality
  • Engage customers in conversation to understand their needs
  • Offer product recommendations, samples, and cooking inspiration
  • Share your passion for spices, tea, and flavor
  • Help create a fun, welcoming, community-focused atmosphere

Tea Bar
  • Prepare and serve loose-leaf tea beverages in a fast-paced environment
  • Engage with guests while preparing drinks, explaining teas, flavor profiles, and brewing methods
  • Help guests discover new teas and answer questions with confidence
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient tea bar

Retail & Store Operations
  • Ring up guests and process transactions using the POS system
  • Assist with inventory, restocking, and merchandising displays
  • Keep the store tidy, organized, and visually inviting
  • Recognize tasks that need attention and take initiative

Production
  • Hand-blend, package, and label spices and teas
  • Follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately using a scale
  • Assist with product preparation and organization

Community & Creativity
  • Support store events, tastings, demos, and classes
  • Occasionally assist with social media content
  • Represent the store at local markets or community events when needed
  • Have fun while helping build a strong community around the store
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Hospitality and customer service experience required
  • Barista or beverage preparation experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in a busy beverage bar while engaging with guests
  • Knowledge of tea is preferred, or a willingness to learn quickly
  • Passion for spices, cooking, and flavor is highly valued
  • Organized and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who can recognize tasks and take initiative
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain products clearly
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable working weekends, evenings, and holidays when needed
  • Must enjoy working with people (and loving dogs doesn't hurt either!)
