MTC is proud to operate the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR where our staff provide quality services to our local youth. We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people’s lives and we want YOU to join our team!

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for replenishing napkin dispensers, plate racks, silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers and condiments. Make coffee, tea and other beverages and set up cafeteria lines and serve meals on the line. Assist in the storage and inventory of supplies; transfer food ingredients from storage area to cooking area. Clean food service area, tables and kitchen equipment and appliances.

Essential functions:

  1. Prepare vegetables, salads, meat, bread, and desserts as instructed or routinely set forth in an appetizing manner.
  2. Perform clean-up and sanitation duties by washing dishes/utensils, store in orderly fashion. 
  3. Assist with food preparation and service area daily which includes keeping refrigerators, floors, and food carts clean. 
  4. Perform cooking duties as needed. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must possess a current ServSafe (Food Handler) Certification. 
  • Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record required.
