As the No. 1 station in Philadelphia for almost 45 years, 6abc Action News delivers local news, information,traffic, and weather to more than 3 million homes. WPVI serves close to7 million people2+ whoresidein the Delaware Valley, an area covering Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey ,and Delaware. In the pastyear,Action News has won 2,633 out of 2,662 newscasts in households for a winning percentage of 99.8%. In an average day, Action News capturesnearly 45%of alladult25-54 news viewers.

6ABC- WPVI-TV Philadelphia is looking for a Part-Time Studio Technician within the programming department to support the daily production of news and other content across all platforms for WPVI-TV.This position is considered on-site, which means the employee will work from a Company-designated location on an ongoing basis.

What You Will Do:

  • Cueing talent for all live and recorded newscasts,in-studio shoots, sports shows, etc.

  • Handling studio lights, PC and console-based lighting boards, studio cameras, camera control units, studio routing, robotic camera operation, microphones, and IFB Systems.

  • Running teleprompter for all live and recorded newscasts,in-studio shoots, sports shows, etc.

  • Assisting in setting up sets and props

  • Providing support in the field for live events, parades, on-location shows, etc.

  • Additional studio duties as assigned and use of all broadcast and technology within assigned operation areas.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of three years of experience working on Television studio newscasts and studio/remote production.

  • Must be willing to work various shifts as needed, including early morning, overnight, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize & handle tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced newsroom environment

  • A valid driver's license is required to drive company-assigned vehicles

Required Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience

The pay rate for this IATSE role in Philadelphia is $25.47 per hour.
