Job description

Position Summary

This is an ONSITE position located in Arlington, VA.

NCC is seeking an Audio Engineer to provide technical leadership, project oversight, and engineering support for complex audiovisual systems and live production environments. This role is responsible for managing AV projects, leading technical teams, maintaining system documentation, developing vendor relationships, and ensuring the successful design, installation, operation, and support of enterprise AV solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of engineering expertise, project management experience, and customer-focused service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate an audio studio to record language dialogues, scripted narration, and audio podcasts for the training center.
  • Collaborate on live productions and studio recordings, including microphone placement, sound level adjustment, and audio mixing for programs.
  • Capture audio using online meeting tools and Adobe Podcast software.
  • Research and incorporate assets from stock repositories for sound effects and music.
  • Use AI tools to generate audio narration, sound effects, and music. Merge human recordings with AI-generated voice to create seamless dialogue tracks using Azure or Google Text-to-Speech (TTS) tools.
  • Edit audio recordings in digital media editing software (such as Adobe Creative Suite) to modify, cut, and arrange audio tracks (dialogue, sound effects, music) for quality, pacing, and flow in post-production. Employ advanced plugins such as EQ, compressors, and noise reduction filters to enhance audio tracks. Sweeten and master audio, encode file output, re-encode audio formats, transfer files, and maintain effective asset management.
  • Create audio segments for training course materials hosted on the NFATC Online learning management platform and Google Sites. Audio programs are also used in videos, interactive e-Book activities, and audio podcasts.
  • Develop audio products for enterprise communication and marketing.
  • Recommend sound recording equipment, software, and systems.
  • Arrange and maintain the schedule for recordings with customers and fulfill audiovisual work orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance (Must be able to pass a background & credit check).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional audio production using current audio recording methods and technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation, with experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Proven experience as a collaborative team member.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Sony Sound Forge, PreSonus Studio One, digital audio interfaces, multi-channel recording, microphone selection and placement, and live studio mixing.



Compensation:

$75,000.00 - $90,000.00
