Job Summary and Qualifications
The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) is a trained professional capable of conducting various cardiac assessments, including Cardiac Stress Tests, Holter Monitoring, Tilt Table Testing, and Electrocardiograms (EKGs). This role also involves clerical tasks related to these procedures, as well as managing supplies and maintaining equipment through assembly, disinfection, and storage. Furthermore, the RN will assist with nursing responsibilities across cardiology departments, medical imaging, and the cardiac catheterization lab, which includes conscious sedation, procedure circulation, and patient monitoring. Direct patient care will be provided in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act, including pre-screening patients and families to facilitate procedures. The RN must be adept at identifying, documenting, and reporting any abnormal or critical screening results while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Patient and family education is also a key component of this role, along with participation in performance improvement initiatives to foster continuous quality enhancement.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or CPR certification, must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Associate or Bachelorโs Degree in Nursing is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of RN experience is mandatory, with a preference for candidates with a cardiac background.
