Part-Time STEM & Life Skills Teacher (Grades K-8 STEM / Grades 6-8 Life Skills)

About St. William Catholic School
St. William Catholic School in Walled Lake, Michigan, is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and faith-filled educator to serve as our Part-Time STEM & Life Skills Teacher beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
At St. William Catholic School, our mission is to inspire students to grow in faith, family, and learning while recognizing the God-given gifts within every child. We are seeking a teacher who finds joy in helping students discover, create, problem-solve, and collaborate while integrating Catholic values into meaningful learning experiences.
This is an exciting opportunity to launch and grow a new K-8 STEM program while teaching a practical Life Skills curriculum for middle school students.
Position Responsibilities
STEM Teacher (Grades K-8)
The STEM teacher will design and implement engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. Instruction should inspire students to investigate real-world problems while integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through project-based learning.
  • Develop and implement an engaging K-8 STEM curriculum.
  • Create hands-on learning experiences that foster inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Integrate engineering design, coding, robotics, technology, and maker-centered learning when appropriate.
  • Encourage innovation while connecting STEM concepts to everyday life.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Foster a classroom environment where curiosity, perseverance, and teamwork are celebrated.
  • Maintain and organize STEM materials, technology, and classroom resources.
Life Skills Teacher (Grades 6-8)
The Life Skills program prepares middle school students to become responsible, organized, compassionate, and capable young adults rooted in Catholic values.
Topics may include:
  • Executive functioning and organization
  • Study skills and time management

  • Career awareness and goal setting
  • Communication and collaboration skills
  • Digital citizenship
