About Open Gym PremierOpen Gym Premier provides camps, club teams, leagues, tournaments and training to dedicated basketball and volleyball players. OGP has earned a reputation for providing quality coaching and innovative, well-organized youth sports events. OGP continues to expand with programs and events across the West, serving over 75,000 players and 10,000 teams annually. Amidst this growth, management remains mission-centric, focused on helping amateur players and teams and revolutionizing the youth sports ecosystem.
Position OverviewStat Keepers and Scorekeepers support game operations by managing the scoreboard, game clock, and in-game stats using our in-house platform The Passport. Working courtside during tournaments, you'll help ensure each game runs smoothly and accurately.
This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced basketball environment.
Stat Keeper Responsibilities:
  • Perform a roster compliance check to ensure players on the court match the roster displayed in The Passport.
  • Keep full game statistics using The Passport Stats Platform, including: Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, Turnovers, Fouls.
  • Manage live stat entry with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Report any court, roster, or gameplay issues to the Event Leads immediately.
  • Finalize and submit all game results through The Passport platform.
  • Verify that scores and stats are accurate before submission.

Score Keeper Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a new scoresheet for the upcoming game.
  • Set up and prepare the game clock for proper timing.
  • Operate the score console to manage the game clock and scoreboard.
  • Maintain the scoresheet, including running score, team/player fouls, and possession.
  • Verbally communicate game events to the Stat Keeper to ensure accurate stat entry.
  • Notify the Event Lead immediately about any court or equipment issues.

Qualifications:
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay focused courtside
  • Basic understanding of basketball rules and scoring
  • Comfortable using tablets, score consoles, and digital platforms
  • Strong communication skills in a team environment
  • Weekend availability required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a stat keeper, scorekeeper, or working youth sports events
  • Basketball playing, coaching, or officiating experience
  • Familiarity with keeping a game book or operating a scoreboard
