Position Overview:

Consistently provide a high level of customer service meeting the needs of the customer as well as the location. Assist in the daily operations of the department. Has or acquires the knowledge to efficiently complete the daily procedures needed for departmental success. Stocks, prepares, packages, and maintains product for specific areas for retail sales.  Assist Supervisors when requested and/or required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform at a high level of cashiering responsibilities on a daily basis
  2. Demonstrate accuracy in entering correct product codes, recording prices, cashier transactions, counting money, and giving change
  3. Recognize customers’ needs and takes the initiative to react accordingly
  4. Set role modeling examples for cashiering
  5. Listen and handle customer complaints/concerns in a controlled manner – directing them to the appropriate individual
  6. Has knowledge of products and their location
  7. Exhibit Teamwork by being flexible and dependable meeting the department needs
  8. Represent the Co-op in a positive manner
  9. Understand the importance of confidentiality
  10. Remain productive without direct supervision
  11. Has ability to multi-task well
  12. Complete all required department and Co-op training

Required Skills/Experience and Attributes:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Ability to represent the Co-op in a positive manner
  3. Ability to multi-task
  4. Proficiency in ECRS POS system and processes
  5. Set an excellent example for new employees
  6. Proficiency in use of computer software, Office 365, Excel and Word
  7. Successful completion of Co-op customer service training
  8. Serve Safe certification acquired as needed
  9. Excellent follow through

Attendance Requirements: 

Flexible hours, including weekend and evening shifts.  Availability to be scheduled to work any day of the week, according to department needs.
