Description Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is Wisconsin's largest and most diverse technical college, offering 170+ high-quality programs that connect students to a career in as little as one to two years. Under the Direction of the Dean of STEM Pathway, develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats, online courses, staff development, conduct open labs (if/when necessary), student advising, student outcome assessment and quality review assessment and implementation, student organization involvement, recruitment and retention of students, and other duties as assigned**.
Required to keep current with the latest trends and technologies in discipline. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities. Manage the classroom/laboratory.
Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program/department evaluation. Manage equipment, supplies and materials. Assess student performance.
Advise students on academic issues. Collaborate with advisory committee in program/department area. Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
Promote the education/training program/department, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to promote educational opportunities at MATC. Support student organizations and activities. Develop relationships with business and industry.
Complete program/department evaluation and follow-up. Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Educational requirements: Must have one (1) of the following: 1) Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in Business, Project Management, Engineering, IT, Operations Management, Mathematics or related sub-fields. -OR- 2) Associates' Degree (AAS/AA) in Business, Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or IT with Bachelor's in any Discipline. -OR- 3) Associates' Degree (AAS/AA) in Business, Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance or IT with five (5) years or (10,000 hours) of experience.
Occupational Experience: Must have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time or equivalent (4,000 hours) experience as Project Management with desired experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects while working within restraints like budgets and schedules with a team. In addition one of the following must be met: 1) At least one (1) year of work experience must have occurred within the last five (5) years. -OR- 2) Two (2) years of teaching Project Management, Quality Engineering, Operations Management or Business related course work at the post-secondary level within the last five years.
{One (1) year of teaching experience equivalent two (2) semesters full-time or four (4) semesters part-time - per State of Wisconsin Legislature Administrative Code TCS3 3.04} Industry or vendor certification: Preferred, but not required: Certified Quality Engineer Lean Certification Lean Six Sigma with minimum of Green Belt Certification Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Additional Job Skills & Abilities: Previous teaching experience preferred. Experience in teaching and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including in-person and online. Experience using a variety of instructional methods including: face-to-face, blended, and 100% online preferred
Must be able to develop and maintain curriculum currency. Working knowledge of computers and software related to instructional area including MS Office/Google Suite, data systems, mobile technologies, web conference tools, and social networking; and knowledge of, or willing to learn, Blackboard or similar learning management system (LMS) preferred. Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning strongly required.
Must be able to communicate effectively through both oral and written means. Must have knowledge of assessment of student academic competency attainment. Must be able to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social and educational backgrounds.

Blackboard Ultra - Experience with Blackboard or other web-based course - management systems. Technology-based Instruction - Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology.
Emerging Technologies - Experience with emerging technologies (e.g. social networking applications). Supplemental Information Start Date: This position supports the STEM Pathway and is available to start in the fall 2026 semester - August 10, 2026
Hours: This is a part-time faculty pool position. This is an "applicant pool" posting. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester.
All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin. We are seeking candidates with flexibility to teach assignments to include any combination of the following: Instructional Modality: In-person Teaching Times: Daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour.
