Job description

What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a Year-Round Technical Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team! As a student intern on the Security Information Systems team, you will play an important role assisting in the software planning, configuration, and testing processes for our team.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
  • Support Safeguards & Security in their efforts to protect people, information, facilities, and materials to enable Sandia's nation security mission.
  • Assist in the software planning, design, configuration, development, and testing processes
  • Work on a dynamic team contributing to software development projects based on project needs
  • Support Sandia's mission by improving operations, offering innovative solutions, and managing risk for corporate activities
  • Partner and learn from senior team members about Sandia's Enterprise System software development methodology

The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range
At Sandia, we value the important work done by our interns and its contribution to National Security. Because of this, our interns earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Note: If you have not earned a HS diploma or equivalent, please apply to a high school intern position.
Qualifications We Desire
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, and/or related field
  • Experience developing web applications using Angular Material, HTML, and JQuery, with familiarity in managing deployments on IIS and Azure Stack infrastructure.
  • Ability to communicate well with management, customers and IT partners
  • Knowledge of/experience with software development languages (e.g., SQL, .NET, Javascript frameworks)
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes and tools
  • Action oriented and produces results ability to accomplish tasks within required timeframes
  • Leadership accepts responsibility and accountability
  • Planning and scheduling work is planned properly, scheduled effectively, and accomplished efficiently
  • Quality output meets/exceeds standards, is accurate and complete

Security Clearance

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
