As a Shovel Operator, you'll play a critical role in helping keep our commercial clients' sidewalks, walkways, and entrances safe throughout the winter season. Every snowfall is different, and we need team members who are reliable, motivated, and ready to respond when our customers need us most.
Key Responsibilities
  • Clear snow and ice from commercial sidewalks, walkways, stairs, ramps, entrances, and other pedestrian areas using shovels and snow removal equipment.
  • Apply de-icing materials as needed to maintain safe walking surfaces.
  • Respond to snow events within 30 minutes of being contacted.
  • Work early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays during snow events.
  • Ensure assigned properties are serviced safely, thoroughly, and according to company standards.
  • Inspect and maintain snow removal equipment before and after each shift.
  • Report equipment issues or safety concerns to your supervisor immediately.
  • Accurately log completed services using a tablet while on-site.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, property maintenance, or other duties during non-snow periods as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid New York State Driver's License (CDL is a plus but not required)
  • Ability to look over shoulder, twist, and turn body/neck repeatedly for long hours
  • Ability to work outdoors in cold, snowy, and icy conditions for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Reliable transportation to report for snow events
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to operate a tablet for service documentation
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing exceptional service

Salary Description
$26.00 - $37.00 Hourly, Based on Experience
