Job description

Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College (SCC) has a reputation as one of the best two-year colleges in the state of Missouri. SCC's service area includes a six-county region with a population exceeding 540,000. SCC's main campus, located in Cottleville, has won architectural awards for its innovative, contemporary design. The college's Dardenne Creek Campus features the Center for Healthy Living and the Field to Table Institute. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Part-Time Service Center Representative (SCR) is the first point of contact for St. Charles Community College's Dardenne Creek Campus (DCC). The SCR will warmly welcome students, prospective students, tour groups, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a student-focused attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer general questions about the programs at DCC: nursing, allied health, agriculture, culinary, and health occupations programs.
  • Provides event information and general campus information regarding hours of operation, college website access, and other activities.
  • Assist students or visitors with scheduling appointments with the Allied Health Academic Advisors and Pathway Navigator.
  • Answers incoming calls professionally and promptly. Directs calls to the appropriate area or staff member. Logs and takes accurate messages.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of information or other publications regarding college programs and services.
  • Assists with other administrative tasks, such as responding to allied health emails, maintaining a tour schedule, managing the reception area, and proctoring exams as needed.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
  • Updates student information, logs visitor details, and maintains accurate records.
  • Assists with campus events as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage time effectively.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in customer service, or administrative role is desirable.
  • Some college coursework
  • Experience in an educational setting is a plus.
