Job description

Afognak Diversified Services, Inc a subsidiary of Afognak Native Corporation has an opportunity for a part-time Security Operations Center Dispatcher in Mobile, AL. The Security Operations Center (SOC) is the primary communications and documentation center for 11 geographically separated locations. Responsible to operate communication equipment to receive incoming calls for assistance and dispatches personnel and equipment to scene of emergency.

Will operate telephone console to receive incoming calls for assistance, questions caller to determine nature of problem and type and number of personnel and equipment needed, following established guidelines. Responsible to scan status charts and computer screen to determine units available. Monitors alarm system signals that indicate location of fire or other emergency and operates two-way radio to dispatch police, fire, medical, and other personnel and equipment, and relay instructions or information to remove units.

Types commands on computer keyboard to update files and maintain logs. Tests communications and alarm equipment, and backup systems to ensure serviceability. May provide pre-arrival instructions to caller, utilizing knowledge of emergency medical techniques, and activate alarm system to notify fire stations.

Responsible to monitor security & fire alarms and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) and dispatch responding forces to provide immediate visual assessment (IVA) at these locations. Responsible to plot locations of resources and responding forces to immediately dispatch as needed. Responsible to maintain rosters of all on-duty forces as well and telephone rosters and notifications matrix.

Responsible to initiate emergency communications to site populace to make them aware of pending and actual emergency events. Payrate: $17.00 to $19.00 hourlyMust be at least 21 years of age. Possess and provide proof of at a minimum HS Diploma or GED equivalency certificate or a high degree

Successfully pass a criminal history background investigation. Must speak English fluently; read and comprehend written English. Must be able to demonstrate excellent skill using Microsoft applications.

Must be capable of learning new computer programs and applications. Must be able to work various shifts, to include weekend and Holidays. Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam.

Ability to write legibly, using proper grammar and spelling. Ability to acquire a knowledge of all contracted site locations, including each site's geographical layout. Ability to acquire the knowledge necessary to operate base radio and computer terminal equipment.

Ability to perform routine clerical work. Ability to follow moderately complex oral instructions. Ability to remain calm and effective under heavy work load and emergency situations.

Ability to speak with a clear, well-modulated and pleasant voice and to use good grammatical construction in choice of words. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the client, public safety other employees and the general public. Ability to monitor CCTV systemsMust be at least 21 years of age.
