Job description

Position: PT Scale House Operator
Location: Staten Island, New York
FLSA: Hourly, Non Exempt
Salary: $17.50 per hour
Hours: 11:45 am - 11:45 pm weekly, alternating Saturday and Sunday, however, must have the flexibility to cover weekday absences.
The PT scale house operator is an individual with strong people and computer skills; whose primary functions are related to ensure each and every truck entering the facility is properly weighed.
Specific Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Greet all incoming truck drivers and visitors at the scale house
  • Ensure all trucks are properly and accurately weighed on the scale both entering and leaving the facility
  • Ascertain the client name and job location for each delivery
  • Begin and close each disposal ticket into the waste management software
  • Review proper documentation for all deliveries
  • Represent the company in a professional, courteous manner at all times
  • Ability to take and utilize comprehensive notes.
  • Control traffic flow, especially when FDNY and other emergency vehicles are on the property.
  • Ability to communicate over the radio to yard crew, mill staff, etc.
  • Monitor pump house status.

  • General computer skills - will train in specific software packages
  • Individual should be detail oriented
