Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Department of History at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a pool faculty position. We are seeking applicants with the ability to teach both halves of the U.S. history survey, and/or both halves of the World History survey, only online. Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching a plus. Teaching load is based on the needs of the department and may range between one and two courses per semester.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Ph.D. in History preferred; the MA in History is required prior to the start of the appointment in September 1st, 2026.
Experience Required for the Position
Teaching experience preferred.
Other Requirements for the Position
This posting is for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
