Hours: 15โ€“20 hours/week

Compensation: $60โ€“70/hr rate

Our client is seeking a senior-level Salesforce Consultant / Developer to step into an existing Salesforce environment supporting a large-scale scholarship management program serving thousands of student applicants annually.

This individual will act as a high-level technical consultant and hands-on developer, helping assess an existing platform built by a prior Salesforce development partner, stabilize current functionality, and deliver strategic improvements and missing solutions moving forward. The ideal candidate is comfortable entering imperfect environments, identifying gaps quickly, and independently driving practical solutions with minimal oversight.

Project Overview

The platform supports scholarship application management for thousands of students each year, including:

  • Application intake and workflow management
  • Tracking and processing scholarship submissions
  • Review and approval workflows
  • AI-assisted filtering and evaluation tools
  • Reporting, automation, and user experience improvements

The client is looking for someone who can both evaluate the current state of the system and serve as an ongoing technical partner for future enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess the current Salesforce architecture, customizations, automations, and workflows
  • Identify system gaps, technical debt, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Design and develop scalable Salesforce solutions aligned with business goals
  • Build and improve automations, workflows, integrations, and custom functionality
  • Support AI-enabled filtering and workflow optimization initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve existing platform issues
  • Provide consultative guidance and best practice recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate directly with leadership and end users to understand operational needs
  • Document recommendations and technical solutions as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a Salesforce Developer and/or Salesforce Consultant
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Apex
  • Lightning Components / LWC
  • Salesforce Flow
  • API integrations
  • Custom objects and automation
  • Proven experience reviewing and improving existing Salesforce implementations
  • Ability to work independently in loosely defined or evolving environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and systems-thinking mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience acting as a trusted advisor or consultant-level resource

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting education, scholarship, grant management, or application-based platforms
  • Exposure to AI tools or workflow automation enhancements within Salesforce
  • Salesforce certifications preferred
  • Experience inheriting projects from previous development firms or consulting teams
