Job description

Job Summary:
Perform various housekeeping functions, cleaning, sanitation, and other housekeeping functions observing high-sanitation and safety standards in accordance with hospital policies and procedures as well as State and Federal laws.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform cleaning procedures of patient rooms and common areas throughout the Operating Room.
  • Maintain adequate linen supply for the departments.
  • Remove waste and soiled linens using proper disposal procedures.
  • Operate housekeeping mechanical equipment.
  • Final Terminal, Terminal and Turnover of Operating Rooms.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • As assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English preferred.

AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Work Experience - Prior cleaning experience in an institutional setting preferred.

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
