The Capital Planning and Facilities (CPF) mission is to create a physical environment that fosters success. We plan, create, maintain, and preserve Indiana University's (IU) beautiful, functional, and sustainable campuses. CPF also serves as a liaison with the state of Indiana for all capital projects, including the Capital Appropriations Request, the state approval process for all capital projects, and the various capital and space utilization reports required by the state.

Job Summary
  • Applies paints, primers, stains, and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces (walls, ceilings, staircases, equipment, etc.).
    Prepares coating materials by tinting, toning, matching and blending to obtain desired color or consistency; mixes in various additives such as retardants, hardeners, drying agents, etc.
  • Prepares surfaces to accept finishes by patching holes, cracks and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other filler; strips, scrapes, sands or power washes to remove old finish and clean surface.
  • Strips, sands, seals and finishes doors, furniture, woodwork, trim and flooring.
  • Removes graffiti; removes, repairs and installs wall coverings.
  • May perform stenciling and dado work.
  • Erects scaffolding in safe manner according to site conditions.
  • Performs other general building maintenance as assigned.
